火狐公司正在为Nokia的MeeGo平台开发火狐移动浏览器

　　著名的浏览器公司火狐在今年的美国拉斯维加斯无线通信展览会（CTIA）上虽然没有发出任何官方消息，但是该公司的副总裁Jay Sullivan对火狐目前开发的手机浏览器（the Firefox for Mobile 1.0）的现状做出了一些非官方的问题做出了回答。

　　Sullivan详细的指出该公司正在积极对Nokia的Maemo/MeeG平台进行火狐移动浏览器的开发。然而对Windows phone的开发只能在微软提供原生的SDK之前停滞在第四alpha阶段。

　　在此期间，虽然火狐浏览器已经可以在两款Nokia的设备（Nokia N900和Nokia N810）上运行，但照目前看来还不能广泛应用在其他手机上。

　　Sullivan透露火狐浏览器还在开发Android版本的手机浏览器。该公司每种版本的浏览器，包括Firefox for Windows, Mac, and mobile，都是基于同一个引擎，而且所有版本的浏览器的关键部分，例如JavaScript, CSS programming languages, and Mozilla’s XUL and HTML，都是相同的。

　　Sullivan还泄露了为了遵循火狐公司的一个软件可以工作在多种平台上使用的理论（one-for-allprogramming philosophy），所有的火狐浏览器都将支持HTML 5 video tags，即人们可以用新的标准编码他们自己的视频短片，从而使在火狐移动浏览器上的视频回放和在桌面上的应用一样简单易用。

WithMozilla sharing no official news atCTIA Wireless conference 2010 inLasVegas, the company’s VPof Mobile Jay Sullivan did answer someunofficial queries about the currentstatus of Firefox browser formobile handsets – the Firefox for Mobile 1.0.


Sullivan specified thatMozilla isactively developing Firefox for Mobilefor the NokiaMaemo/MeeGo platform; while thedevelopment for Windows phones has beenstalled at itsfourth alpha stage, and workthereon will be continuedonly after Microsoft provides a native developmentkit (NDK).  


Meanwhile,withFirefoxbeing available on two Nokia devices - the Nokia N900 and the N810InternetTablet-， the wide availability of of the browser’s mobilephone-friendly form appearshighly unlikely， as of now.  


Nonetheless, Sullivanrevealedthat Mozilla is also working on a Firefoxversion for AndroidOS-basedhandsets. Incidentally， since Mozilla powers its differentFirefoxversions –like Firefox for Windows, Mac, and mobile - fromacommon Gecko engine, the key components of all the versions are thesame,including JavaScript, CSS programming languages, andMozilla’s XULand HTML.  


Sullivan further disclosedthat, in tune with Mozilla’s one-for-allprogramming philosophy， allFirefox browsers will support HTML 5 videotags,which producers can usefor encoding their videos with the new standards;thereby allowingvideos to play back in Firefox mobilejust the way they play back fromthe desktop.
